About us

The Church has been established in Hedon since 1994 meeting in the Alexandra Hall under the ministry of Pastor Bellerby.  However, for the past four  years we have worshipped in the Scout Hall,  Sheriff Highway, Hedon under the leadership of Pastor Jim Mackenzie and his wife, Sue.  Jim and Sue were called by God to come to Hedon to both lead and build up the church here and it is their hearts desire to serve the local community as well as reaching out and providing ministry to all the villages in the South Holderness area.

The Church in Hedon is part of  the Assemblies of God denomination which is one of the largest, liveliest and fastest growing of all the Christian denominations in the world.  It is the largest Pentecostal denomination and was established in 1914 following the “Azusa Street Revival”*  The growth rate of the A.O.G. organisation is approximately 5,000 members per day!   There are currently over 600 churches in the U.K.

The Azusa Street Mission was held in a small building in Los Angeles.  Many Christians sought the Lord for revival over a period of time and the fire fell at the Mission Hall in Azusa Street.  Many many people were touched by the Holy Spirit of God and their lives changed for ever.  This happened in 1910. Thank God this can happen today!
